Ukuleles, Drums and Art

  • July 16-20, 2018
  • Ages 8-10
  • 9 am – 4 pm
  • $245 plus a $15 materials fee

Wilson Marks is an incredible music teacher. His fun, creative teaching style is a huge hit with campers every summer. During the music portion of this camp, each camper will learn beginning ukulele (an instrument will be provided and lent out during the duration of the camp) in addition to exploring drums and percussion instruments. By week’s end students will have learned songs from several cultures and learned to play simple accompaniments on the ukulele. There will also be some movement games and activities. Jennifer Ober, Agua Fresca Studios owner and art teacher, will lead the art portion of the camp. Creative thinking will continue as Jennifer leads the kids in lots of fun and engaging art projects throughout the course of the week. We’ll explore a variety of media, including clay*. With lots of repeat students from year to year, Jennifer makes every effort to plan projects that are new and engaging for every student in every camp.

*Please also note that clay projects must dry for several days before they can be fired in the kiln, so clay projects will need to be picked up at a later date. If your child would like to glaze (add color!) to his or her ceramic piece(s), you can always sign up for one of the glazing days later in the summer.

Please bring/wear the following each day:
* a reusable water bottle
* two snacks
* a sack lunch
* wear art-friendly clothes (we also have art t-shirts available)
* wear water-friendly shoes that secure well to the feet (NO FLIP FLOPS)

To Register: Please complete the student profile, then add the class to your cart and select the ‘pay with a credit card’ option. If you prefer to pay with cash or check, just email Jennifer at to make arrangements.
