This camp is back for another year of fun and with another author/illustrator twist! Jennifer Martin will be leading our budding scientists through 5 days of hands-on exploration and experimentation as well as a group story authored by the kids. Jennifer Martin is new to Agua Fresca this year, but has been a teacher for many years in both Austin ISD and in Mexico and she’s incredible! Agua Fresca Studios owner and art teacher, Jennifer Ober, will lead the young illustrators in the collaborative author and illustrator project along with several other art projects over the course of the week. We always do a clay* project in each of our Agua Fresca Camps, so your little one can expect to do some 3D building, too. We’ll have our hands in paint, ink, clay and more, so art friendly clothes are encouraged! If you’ve signed up for this camp in the past and want to do it again, that’s great! We mix things up a bit each year, so there will be plenty of new experiences.
Students in this camp should plan to wear water-friendly shoes that strap well to the feet (NO CROCS or FLIP FLOPS), hats/sun protection and art-friendly clothes.
*Please note that clay projects must dry for several days before they can be fired in the kiln, so clay projects will need to be picked up at a later date. If your child would like to glaze (add color!) to his or her ceramic piece(s), you can always sign up for one of the glazing days later in the summer.
Please bring/wear the following each day:
* a reusable water bottle
* two snacks
* a sack lunch
* wear art-friendly clothes (we also have art t-shirts available)
* wear water-friendly shoes that secure well to the feet (NO FLIP FLOPS or CROCS)
