This camp is back for another year of fun! Due to the popularity of the science/art camp combo, we’ve expanded to two age groups this year. Experienced, certified teacher and local mom, Lauren Slubar, will be leading our younger budding scientists through 5 days of hands-on exploration and experimentation. In the past the kids in this camp have built solar ovens, designed and raced boats in the creek, used lemons to light up bulbs, exploded volcanoes, dropped eggs from the tree house without a scratch, and more! We can’t wait to see what is in store for 2017. She will embrace our 10 acres of nature and the creek in her projects, so plan for a mix of outdoor and indoor time. Good shoes are a must! Jennifer Ober, Agua Fresca Studios owner and art teacher, will take over after lunch as the kids create art projects with a nature theme using a variety of media including mosaics and clay*. With lots of repeat students from year to year, Jennifer makes every effort to plan projects that are new and engaging for every student in every camp. If you signed up for this camp last year, don’t worry, we’ll have lots of new projects and experiences to offer in 2017! Students in this camp need to wear water-friendly shoes that strap well to the feet (NO FLIP FLOPS), hats/sun protection and art-friendly clothes.
Please bring/wear the following each day:
* a reusable water bottle
* two snacks
* a sack lunch
* wear art-friendly clothes (we also have art t-shirts available)
* wear water-friendly shoes that secure well to the feet (NO FLIP FLOPS)
